Reducing the education and youth unemployment gap between rural and urban areas in Italy through STEM education projects and the Youth Entrepreneurship Programme.

(English)
The education gap between rural and urban areas in Italy is growing significantly, especially with regard to STEM education. Public schools in medium and small communities lack appropriate teaching facilities, suitably trained and skillful personnel and the mental readiness for the technology era. The public reform of education is happening very slowly in these areas. STEM@IT aims to set education models that will help to improve the equality and quality of STEM education by collaborating with local schools and communities. We also plan to use our education and business models to train local young people to be entrepreneurs and STEM educators, so as to build a long-term and sustainable STEM educational system for the rural areas.
